Hojicha is a roasted green tea with a distinctive caramelised flavour, nutty aroma and golden colour.

This Hojicha is a blend of late-autumn harvest tea from the Shizuoka prefecture in Japan. The stems of the tea plants are harvested and then roasted to a high temperature of 180°C bringing out a deep and rich flavour. 

Hojicha is traditionally served as an after dinner tea as it is 99% decaffeinated. 

This Hojicha has undergone a two hour double milling process to create an extra smooth and fine powder perfect for creating rich, delicious milk-based drinks.

HOT MATCHA LATTE

  1. Add 3g (or to taste) of hojicha to a 250ml latte glass.
  2. Heat 250ml milk with steam wand (or stove, microwave etc) to 70˚C
  3. Add a splash of boiling water (around 30ml) to your glass, stir the hojicha until there are no lumps.
  4. Fill the glass with remaining milk.
  5. Enjoy with or without honey or sweetener of your choice.

ICED MATCHA LATTE

  1. Add 3g (or to taste) of hojicha to a small cup or dish.
  2. Add a splash of boiling water and mix the hojicha until there are no lumps.
  3. Fill a glass or cup with ice.
  4. Top with your choice of milk, making sure to leave enough room for the hojicha mixture on top
  5. Pour the hojicha mixture over your ice and milk and enjoy!
